The Brother MFC printer copy scanners fax all in one office equipment toner based models are good durable home office and small office machines. The Brother MFC models range from small inexpensive color ink based models to the 9940CN color all in one printer copier scanner faxes for small business (3..5 people). Just like all equipment routine maintenance repairs are needed to keep them running. One of the most common problems with the one based Brother MfC’s, as with all brands of printer copier scanners, are paper jams repairs.
95% of all paper jam repair maintenance problems with printer scanner copiers MFC occur in three places: (1) ADf automatic document feeder on the top of the unit, (2) in the plain paper drawer and (3) in the fuser area paper getting stuck drum the drum area. The printer copier repair for the first two areas are not expensive repairs. They both require replacing the paper pick up assembly or roller and the paper separation pad or assembly. In fact, on some Brother MFC the printer copier scanner repair needed i indicated on the LCD “replaced PF1 fit” or “replaced PF2 kit”. Both the PF1 and PF2 brother paper repair maintenance feed kits are USER replaceable. You do not need a technician to do the repair 95% of the time if you ave basic skills with a standard screw driver.
The Brother MFC fuser repair paper jam problem is a bit more expensive to repair. The fuser assembly on all brands of printers copiers scanners are considered normal wear and tear parts. In other words, they wear out over time and require repair or replacement. ON some printer copier scanner fax machines repairing the fuser is as simple as removing a couple of screws. On other brands it requires you to remove covers, power supplies and other components. On large copier printer new fuser as so expensive that most technicians rebuild them and the manufacturer offers a copier printer maintenance kits that contains all the parts to repair rebuild the fuser assemblies. The Brother MFC printer copier scanners fuser are not rebuilt but just replaced as a unit. Most Brother MFC’s fuser copier printer repair maintenance take an technician lessthan 30 minutes to complete.

One of the most common problems beyond the regular HP maintenance repair kit installation is the failure of laser printers communication with the network. If you HP printer, Lexmark laser or other laser printer fails to print a job then you need to check your communications. On a network when you send a print job it goes through your switch to the laser printers Nic (network) card (HP jetdirect) and then to the laser printer copier formatter board.
The first item to check when repairing your Hp printer problem is your network cable on your printer copier to make sure its seated well in the printer and the network switch. At the same time check to see if your NIC card (HP jetdirect card) shows a green light. If the card does not show a green light then it is not communicating with the network or the formatter card in the printer. If this happens first install a new NIC card to repair the printer copier problem. IF the new card still does not show a light then either the formatter is bad or the network connection.
If you have a second network printer then take the network cable out of the printer having the repair problem and put it in to the other printer to eliminate the switch and network cable as being the printer repair problem. If the cable works in the other printer then you know you will need to replace the formatter and possibly the jetdirect card. If the connection does not work on the other printer then you have a network problem (bad cable, switch, other). Repairing printer copiers communication problems is a process of elimination.
When repairing your HP printer or other brand copier printer make sure you follow logical steps in eliminating possible printer failure to communicate problems. This is going to be a shorter post on printer repair of for HP, Lexmark, Kyocera and other laser printers. Many times during the year clients call with a common problem when when they use more than on size of paper. Its the HP repair size mis-match problem. This error occurs when the laser printer receives a command from the computer to print on a size of paper not in the paper cassettes or the MP tray (tray 1). First, this is not a printer repair problem. It’s a user error.
If your HP, Lexmark or Kyocera laser printer drawer is setup as legal size and you send a 8.5″ x 11″ (standard size paper) print job to it you will receive this error “size mis-match” or a message that says to load standard paper. The printer is acting correctly. If thinks is should be getting a legal job sent to the paper drawer but instead you are sending a standard size paper job. The repair of the printer is simple: change the paper in the drawer to standard size. Now if you wanted to print legal and you think you are sending a legal size job and you get this message the Lexmark HP printer repair is still not needed.
Always check the properties for paper size when you get this message. You will get the HP printer repair error size mis-match if your properties of the file you are sending is incorrect. Each document you send to the Lexmark, Kyocera, HP or other laser printer maintains information from the last time it was printed. If the last time you used legal paper when printing then unless you change the properties of the file with your computer it will think you are using legal size paper again. If you printer has standard paper and the computer says legal then you will get a size mis match error. The computer ALWAYS overrides the printers default configuration.
The MP tray is a little different. The MP tray can not tell the difference between legal or standard size paper. If you say legal and it has standard 90% of the time you will get a paper jam! Why? Because it is expecting a long sheet of paper when it is printing and when it see the end of the page too soon it will give you a error. This is a simple HP repair maintenance problem resolution.
This simplifies the repair of HP Lexmark Kyocera printers. Advanced Business Computers Inc in Miami Florida will help with your repair problem with one simple phone call 305 477-2320 or send them an email for additional help with your laser printer copier fax repairs and maintenance.

What the the normal cases of lines on printer copier fax machines? Resolving lines on pages is as easy as cleaning the glass in the adf area and as difficult to repair rebuild copier printer fuser assembly. First, lines are caused usually caused by one of the three following printer copier repair problems: dirty glass in the scanner area, bad drum/blade, or fuser assembly maintenance needed. depending upon your printer copier scanner follow the following steps to determine the cause of your printer repair maintenance needs.
First, does the line show up when you are printing, copying or both? If the copier printer fax multi-function equipment is producing lines only when you fax out then the problem is the scanner glass. You will need to open the ADF (automatic document feeder) which is the part you feed the pager you are trying to copy or fax out. Fine the scanner glass which is usually 1 inch in length and 11 to 17″ long. Cleaning the scanner glass is a regular Copier printer maintenance that does not require a technician. Remember, I am not talking about the large glass on the flat bed of your copier printer scanner. The automatic feeder has a separate scan glass in the ADF area usually designed for easy access.
If you are getting lines if when printing or if the scanner glass is not the cause then you need to check the fuser and/or drum/developer unit of your printer copier fax multi-function device. Depending upon you equipment this may require a copier printer repair technician to perform the task. If the line are horizontal across the page they the get a bit lighter after a few pages (you need to print several pages at one time) then its the drum unit causing the problem. If the lines are pencil thin then it is usually the drum unit too.
The fuser assembly on your copier printer may need a complete maintenance kit or replacement depending upon you model if your printer copier repair problem consist of thick lines or lines that are not solid all the way down the page. Put out the fuser assembly and see if the upper heat roller coating is wearing away. when repairing copier printers the technicians can determine the problem if less than 30 minutes. Remember to get certified printer copier repair maintenance service technicians. Be careful of one man operations or companies that can not explain over the phone print copier repair costs.

One of the more common problems is a light print or a vertical area of a page with light or no text on the printer copier. Most printer copier image repair problems are a process of elimination. All digital laser or led based printer copiers faxes use toner and developer that are either mixed in the copier printer or premixed in the toner cartridge. Knowing this fact is important when repairing copier printer scanner equipment.
If you need to repair printer image problems then with light areas then first determine if you have a toner cartridge that contains both toner and developer or if you have separate toner, developer and drum unit. If you have an all in one toner cartridge then change the cartridge to see if the problem is resolved. If changing the toner, developer drum all in one cartridge resolves the problem than you are either low on toner or there is a blockage in the developer area of the cartridge.
If your printer copier has separate toner, developer and drum units then you need to look at the developer unit first and then the drum unit to repair the copier printer light image problem. If you are low in developer or the developed mag roller has a blockage then it will cause light or totally blank areas on your print. When you repair of the copier printer image problem be careful not to touch the mag roller with your fingers which can cause skin oils to damage the roller and cause future clogs. Now check if you are low of developer powder. Some copier printers do not require replacing the entire developer unit if you are low in developer. Instead you just need to buy the developer powder, put in the powder and adjust the machine. If you are not sure ask your copier printer repair technician.
If you copier printer is not low on developer look for blockage in the toner hopper or developer unit. Blockage will either cause toner and developer not to mix properly or not to be transferred to the drum unit. Another cause of light prints is the fuser assembly not applying enough pressure on the page to fully transfer the toner but this is a less likely cause than a developer problem. Copier printer repair requires qualified technicians to resolve problems quickly. This article is designed to give you and idea of the copier printer scanner repair process so when you speak to your certified printer copier repair tech you have a understanding of what they are telling you.

HP Designjet Plotters are designed for many years of reliable service as long as you perform based maintenance repair on a regular basis. The plotter maintenance repairs usually take less than 1.5 hours and should be performed after every 500 prints or at least once a year if you produce less pages on your HP designjet.
The most basic maintenance is the cleaning and lubrication of your Designjet printer unit. All HP Designjets use liquid ink cartridges. The ink over time will thicken and cause problems is not maintained. First, always check you designjet plotter belt for wear. Worm or frayed carriage drive belts is the number one cause of HP designjet plotter repairs and errors. Check the belt frequently for cuts, nicks or frayed areas. Also, check the inside of your machine for small black rubber pieces that almost looks like dirt particles. If you see any rubber pieces, frayed parts of the belt or thinning of the belt them replaced the plotter belt. Broken HP designjet belts or excessive worn belts could damage your carriage assembly and even cause the failure of the electronic module is the belt actually snaps during usage. Both the carriage assembly and the electronic modules are VERY VERY expensive to repair!
The next HP designjet maintenance is the lubrication of the bar that the carriage assembly slides on. Do not use conductive lubricant of the plotter. One of the best lubricates is Super Lube which is a Teflon based lubricant. DO not over lubricate the bar. Only a very small amount is needed for the HP designjet repair maintenance.
Finally, on some HP designjet models you can do maintenance on the cleaning station. this entails removing old thickened inks deposits. Be careful not to damage the unit. If you need further assistant or have questions concerning repairing and maintaining HP designjet plotters.

Just like many other companies HP is making policies that reflect hard economic times. recently HP has discontinued many parts and maintenance kits for various plotters and printers .the hardest hit area we notice is the HP plotter repair and maintenance parts. If you need your HP plotter repaired take notice: parts are getting more expensive and harder to find on models 2 years or older.
Case in point HP T100 and T1100 series plotters. This machine is just about 2 years old and HP has no or very limited parts for repairs. It’s an expensive machine ($2,00 and up) but HP in there cost cutting measure has stopped selling greatly needed parts for the machine. One of their representatives on the phone stated they have cut less profitable parts from their inventory. I otherwords BE VERY VERY CAREFUL when you purchase an HP plotter now.
HP passes you to a reseller who sells the part for more than retail. Basically the reseller has a special deal with HP and it leaves customers out in the cold! This reminds me of a recent email I received about a HP printer repair. In Iraq a soldier called HP fro technician support on a printer just over 1 year old. They referred the soldier in IRAQ to see an HP repair center or HP will charge him $50 for a the phone call. The solution to the problem was the soldier taking the HP printer and he made a video of him shooting it with an automatic gun. The video and reason for he video had over 2,000,000 views the last time I show it! How is that for a response to poor HP repair support?

HP Plotters just like you care needs regular lubrication, cleaning and adjustments to remain in good working order. The main areas of designjet plotter repair maintenance are the carriage assembly, cleaning station and the drive belt. HP plotters repairs are costly and you can prolong the time between maintenance of the designjets with simple procedures.
Most plotters used for drafting, blue printers, posters and other types of work are ink bases. Just like you common ink pens they dry up over time if not used. The first thing you should always remember is to use your plotters at least twice a month to prevent the ink from drying and destroying your pint head and carriage unit. If you let you HP plotter sit then the ink will thicken and cause problems which could result in hundreds of dollars in repairs.
The next plotter repair maintenance step is lubrication of your carriage assembly drive shaft and belt. The carriage assembly of your hp designjet plotter moves along a smooth metal shaft. The shaft should always be free of paper fibers, link and it should have a slight greasy coating (very light). Do not use WD-40 on you HP plotter. Use a Teflon base lubricant but always remember is should be a very very light used. You do not want t a build up of lubricant.
The carriage assembly drive belt of your HP plotter will wear out over time no matter what you do. However, you can prevent the rubber from cracking most of the time with simple HP plotter service maintenance. The plotter drive belt is a back rubber band with teeth designed to move the carriage assembly back and forth across the page. Plotter drive belt rubbers will dry out over time is not used.
Use WD-40 or other rubber rejuvenation to keep the plotter belt from drying out and cracking. Again, great care should be taken to prevent spraying other parts of the plotter. It’s better to remove the belt and lubricate it off the hp plotter. If you are not sure of your mechanical skills get a certified plotter technicians to do the maintenance.
Maintenance of your HP plotter is critical to prolong the life of your equipment. If you belt breaks during usage it can cause your plotter carriage assembly damage or even a short in your hp designjet electronic module. Replace worn plotter carriage assembly drive belts. Lubricate your carriage assembly and use the plotter on a regular basis to prevent plotter head clogging. When you need help contact a certified plotter repair service and maintenance company or post a help question on this blog..

Do you own or lease a color printer or digital copier? One of the most common problems with color printers and color copiers is understanding the causes of image problems and how to determine the printer copier repair image problem. The one one problem is a repeated or light reprint of a previous image on the same page.
The first step is to determine which color or colors are causing the repeat printer copier repair problem. Do the following to isolate the actual drum or toner repair problem of your digital copier or printer scanner:
Step 1: Print a normal word or excel document but only using the color black. If some of the text is not in black temporary change it to black. You do not want any other color except for the one you are testing.
Step 2: Repeat step one but switch to only using yellow, blue and magenta colors. This is a way to isolate the actual cause of the printer copier problem so you can determine the correct repairs needed.
Step 3: Look at each print out. Which ones show the printer copier repair image problem? If you only see it on the black pages then the problem is related to the black toner or black drum unit. Your color copier printer has one toner per color and in most systems one drum per color. You are trying to determine if the printer copier problem is related to just certain colors or all colors.
Step 4: If the printer repair or copier repair image problem follows certain colors then you will either need to replace the drum or the toner cartridge. If your color copier printer has separate drums and toners then replace the drum unit. Otherwise replace the toner which contains the toner and drum. If you are not sure contact us and we will look up the model of your printer copier problem and tell which one needs to be replaced.
Step 5: f the Color printer copier image repair problem follows all the colors then the cause is either the fuser assembly or the imaging belt unit. the replacement of the fuser or imaging may require a certified copier or printer repair technician.
If you have other copier printer repair image problems please fell free to comment or ask questions through this blog or contact Advanced Business Computers in Miami. Color image image problem solving does not require vast printer or copier repair expertise.

This is a simple yet common problem. We just received a question about a hp laser printer printing pages of garbage random characters. Laser printers copiers are mostly dumb devices. They sit there and want for a command from your computer network or individual desktop to print pages.
Each laser printer copier have software drivers that are installed on your computers to control the printing scanning and faxing through your printer copier fax multi-function device (MFD). Some copier printers will accept commands using universal PCL5 or PCl-6 printer commands.
The simplest causes of this printer copier repair issue is a loose printer cable. Make sure the cables going to the printer copier are secure. If its loose or cut then secure and/or replaced the cable to solve the printer repair problem. If the cable is not loos then continue reading to solve the copier printer repair problem.
If you print a document using the wrong or bad printer driver, the printer will either not print at all or it will print our garbage characters. If this happens first see if the correct laser printer is selected in the properties page (select file, print and look at the selected printer). Do this when you have the document that did not print right on your screen. This is a simple printer repair problem. If you have the wrong printer selected then select the right one to fix the printer copier repair problem of printing garbage.
If you have the correct printer select you will need to reinstall the printer driver (first delete the old driver and then download a new driver). It’s important that you DELETE the old printer and then DOWNLOAD from the Internet the most current copier printer drive to repair this problem. Do not try to repair the printer problem with your current driver.
If the above does not solve the printer repair problem then call a copier printer repair professional for further advice. the copier printer repair may entail more complicated network problem, corrupt print files or the copier printer controller repair. Or send a question through this blog for a quick replay.
