the fuser assembly is the part the uses pressure and heat to melt (Fuse) the toner to the paper on copier printer fax machines. SC547 Savin, Gestetner, Lanier and Ricoh error code means that the hot roller does not increase in temperature when required.  This error code is repaired by replacing the thermistors. thermalstat and/or heating unit.

SC550 means the fusing web needs to be replaced on the Rioch, Savin, Lanier or Gestetner copier printer scanner. the fusing web is a roll that lubricates some models of copiers fuser heat roller.  If you do not do the copier repair maintenance replacement of the fuser web then it will cause paper jams and damage to the fuser assembly.

A: The first thing is to test that your laptop’s CD or DVD drive is working.  Download UBCD (Ultimate Boot CD) and burn it to a disc on another computer. On the PC you just use to create the CD test to make sure it works. Remember you may need to change the system settings to tell it to boot from the CD drive first instead of your hard drive. Now take the CD and try it on your computer to see if it repairs the problem. If you cannot boot your laptop (i.e, cannot read) then you need a new CD or DVD drive for your system.

This past week three clients called with the same copier repair problem.  They had bad images on their digital copiers and required copier service help.  Their copier was producing gray images and in some cases no images at all. All the digital copiers problems had one thing in common: they just replaced the toner cartridge.

This is a common error code for Ricoh copiers, Savin and Gestetner copiers that need service.  Recently Ricoh has purchased Lanier and now is naming all their new machines Lanier instead of Gestetner, Savin and Ricoh. However, the copier service error codes have remained he same.

When you get this copier printer service code it means the fuser or fixing assembly (same part) has thermistor problem.
